Supervisory Physical Scientist, ZP-1301-5 (DE/CR)

Serve as a Branch Chief delivering a full range of scientific oversight and administrative leadership across various sections comprised of physical scientists covering coastal science, physical oceanography, biological oceanography, marine geology, hydrography, space weather, physical science and/or other geophysical disciplines to promote understanding of scientific developments, approaches and techniques. Develop and manage strategic partnerships; network with team members to facilitate and promote teamwork and collaboration; promote understanding of scientific developments, approaches and techniques. Develop and supervise effective organizations; provide direction to scientific and administrative professionals. Evaluate work performance of subordinates, identify training needs, increasing the quality of work; recommend promotions and reassignments and provide conflict management within the organization. Provide operational readiness, safety, security, and planning; manage resources, budgets and affiliate personnel assets; develop and review annual operating budgets for programs and projects to ensure proper balance in resource allocation and effective use of resources. EDUCATION:
A. Degree:
Physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.ORB. Combination of education and
Experience:
Education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.-AND- SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the ZP-5 or GS-15 level:

Experience:
In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-4 or GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Participating in multi-disciplinary teams by assisting in the development of scientific research and decision making on a department level scope; and Developing geophysical data to be used in scientific articles, presentations, reports or standard operating procedures.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
